Baking Bad, formerly known as Bad Cooking, is a series where Kevin tries to cook delicious desserts. As the title of the series suggests, the result is often disappointing.
So far Kevin has tried to bake four desserts: Baked Alaska, Macarons, Chocolate Lava Cakes, and Éclairs.
As a true chef, Kevin often ends his recipes with "Bon appétit" (or "Bon appétat" which means nothing) or the classic "et voilà".
Cooking results[]
Baked Alaska[]
Kevin blames the meringue as the downfall of his Baked Alaska. Although Kevin enjoys the sponge, he explains that it is “too sugary”. Even though Kevin believes he got diabetes from a single bite, he thinks the cooking ”went well”.
Macarons[]
The macarons seem to be the best (or the least worst) dessert that Kevin attempted. Indeed, despite their outrageous shape and the lack of colour, Kevin gave them an OK/10 rating for the taste.
Chocolate Lava Cakes[]
Kevin says he has “never seen anything look exactly like dogshit and still be edible.” Kevin's Chocolate Lava Cakes aren't cakes at all, but rather hot chocolate with butter and eggs.
Éclairs[]
Much like Kevin’s other dishes, his Éclairs don’t end up looking like Éclairs at all. Kevin describes the taste as “not bad,” claiming he “likes it” even though it doesn’t taste like an éclair.
Kevin's tips[]
One of the most famous tips from the series is using the pocket of his apron. This technique allows him to access easily egg yolks stored there, sugar, or can even be used to break eggs.
Reception[]
Despite the fact that these videos make less views than the regular gaming ones, Baking Bad remains a highly popular series very among his subscribers.
During an "Ask Me Anything" session on his subreddit in 2019, Kevin said he would really like to continue the series, but his current kitchen setup is not great for filming in and he simply does not have the time. He also explained that the videos don't get as many views as usual videos, since the series is more niche. Nevertheless, he states he hopes the series will return at some point.
In "I open a bakery that ends lives in Cooking Simulator", he trolled his subscribers by starting the video with the Baking Bad opening, while he actually played the Pizza DLC for Cooking Simulator.
